Commentary -- Reunion - Chapter 2, Part 4

This segment continues shortly after the previous segment and advances several different threads.

First, the parentage of Ryoko and Nagi is furthered.  Since Tenchi Universe does not address the past of either, besides being a space pirate and a bounty hunter, I am taking the liberty to explore my own take.  Some allusions to Ryoko's mother were made in the previous story, but the current story will go far deeper into who she was.

Second, the relationship between Jurai and its subject-world Ryua continues to develop.  The previous story mentioned unrest between the two planets, as did earlier parts of this story, but the current story will address these issues more directly.

Lastly, several recurring characters have reemerged and will play a role in the events to come.  Jezibel Kimitan previously appeared periodically in the previous story, but is now a main antagonist.  Likewise, Nerti Ro appeared briefly in the previous story, but now will be a key figure for the next chapter.  By extension, Will Pii appeared in the previous story to counter Mecha-Nerti, but now is a support character to her creator.
