Commentary -- Reunion - Chapter 1, Part 2

Here is where the story starts chronologically.  I had two goals for this segment:  (1) introduce the other main characters for the story and (2) put Ryoko into the state of mind to seek out a bar.  To accomplish (2), I borrowed characters liberally from the various continuities of Tenchi Muyo! and its spin-offs, including Pretty Sammy, to fill out a peer group who would meet Ayeka and Sasami upon their arrival.

As one might imagine, borrowing characters from other continuities does entail some rewriting of those characters to fit into this story, which is explicitly based on Tenchi Universe.  Consequently, some character backstories and relationships are altered.  I do hope to keep the characters' personalities intact, while I may well mangle their respective histories.  I apologize in advance! 😅
